Always Stay Alert

ایک دفعہ کا ذکر ہے کہ ایک شیر تھا جو اس قدر بوڑھا ہو گیا تھا کہ وہ اپنے کھانے کے لیے کسی شکار کو مارنے کے

 قابل نہیں تھا۔  تو اس نے اپنے آپ سے کہا کہ مجھے اپنا پیٹ قائم رکھنے کے لیے کچھ کرنا چاہیے ورنہ میں بھوک سے مر جاؤں گا۔

 وہ سوچتا رہا اور آخر کار ایک خیال نے اسے دبا دیا۔  اس نے بیمار ہونے کا بہانہ کر کے غار میں لیٹنے کا فیصلہ کیا اور پھر جو بھی اس کی خیریت دریافت کرنے آئے گا وہ اس کا شکار ہو جائے گا۔  بوڑھے شیر نے اپنے شیطانی منصوبے کو عملی جامہ پہنایا اور وہ کام کرنے لگا۔  ان کے بہت سے خیر خواہ مارے گئے۔  لیکن برائی مختصر رہتی ہے۔

 ایک دن ایک لومڑی بیمار شیر سے ملنے آئی۔  چونکہ لومڑیاں فطرتاً چالاک ہوتی ہیں، لومڑی غار کے منہ پر کھڑی ہو کر ادھر ادھر دیکھنے لگی۔  اس کی چھٹی حس کام کر گئی اور اسے حقیقت کا علم ہو گیا۔  تو اس نے باہر سے شیر کو آواز دی اور کہا جناب آپ کیسے ہیں؟

 شیر نے جواب دیا، میری طبیعت بالکل ٹھیک نہیں ہے۔  لیکن تم اندر کیوں نہیں آتے؟

 تو لومڑی نے جواب دیا، میں اندر آنا پسند کروں گا، جناب!  لیکن یہ دیکھ کر کہ آپ کے غار تک تمام پاؤں کے نشانات جا رہے ہیں اور کوئی باہر نہیں نکل رہا ہے، تو میں اندر آنے کے لیے بے وقوف ہو گا۔

 یہ کہہ کر لومڑی دوسرے جانوروں کو خبردار کرنے چلی گئی۔

 اخلاق: اپنی آنکھیں ہمیشہ کھلی رکھیں اور کسی بھی حالت میں چلنے سے پہلے چوکنا رہیں۔

Once upon a time there was a lion that grew so old that he was unable to kill any prey for his food. So, he said to himself, I must do something to stay my stomach else I will die of starvation.

He kept thinking and thinking and at last an idea clicked him. He decided to lie down in the cave pretending to be ill and then who-so-ever will come to inquire about his health, will become his prey. The old lion put his wicked plan into practice and it started working. Many of his well-wishers got killed. But evil is short lived.

One day, a fox came to visit the ailing lion. As foxes are clever by nature, the fox stood at the mouth of the cave and looked about. His sixth sense worked and he came to know the reality. So, he called out to the lion from outside and said, How are you, sir?

The lion replied, I am not feeling well at all. But why don’t you come inside?

Then the fox replied, I would love to come in, sir! But on seeing, all foot prints going to your cave and none coming out, I would be foolish enough to come in.

Saying so, the fox went to alert the other animals.

Moral: Always Keep Your Eyes Open and Stay Alert before Walking in Any Situation.
